Dianova Launches “Listen First!” Campaign

With the “Listen first!” campaign Dianova aims to improve family communication and help parents and children do simple things: talk, listen to each other and share moments of fun, culture and discovery

Listen First campaign

The campaign is based on a simple concept, something that we all know how to do, even though we usually don’t take the time to do. Listen.

Press release, Barcelona, February 28, 2019 – Dianova International and the Boí Taüll Pyrenean ski resort are to implement a series of activities aimed at improving communication between parents and children, aged 7 to 14 years old. A “Solidarity Day” will be organized on March 2 in Boí Taüll with a reception and information booth and the organization of debates for families and facilitated by trained professionals.

Lack of communication can be a concern for parents, especially at adolescence. Many feel like strangers to their own teens and all yearn for the good old days when kids were younger and the family used to get along very well. In some cases, the relationship between adolescents and their parents can even be dominated by resentment or even indifference, leading adults to question their parenting skills, generating anxiety, frustration, or depression.

“I have the greatest difficulty communicating with my 14-year-old daughter; I would like to know a little more about her life, her friends or her problems, but as soon as I ask her a question, she turns her back on me and leaves the room. I don’t know what I can do.” Marta, 43 years old

The “Listen First!” campaign aims to raise public awareness of the importance of building positive relationships within one’s family and especially with children, to help them grow healthy and resilient, and prevent risky behaviours such as alcohol or other drug use. Through the campaign, Dianova also intends to provide communication tools to reinforce communication and dialogue.

The campaign is based on a simple concept, something that we all know how to do, even though we usually don’t take the time to do. Listen. However simple this concept may be, parents must be willing to practice simple things such as talking to their children, listening to them and sharing with them moments of pleasure and discovery.
