“Mocktails” – Memories of a Night of Fun, 6th Edition

For the sixth year in a row, Dianova Portugal and Torres Vedras city hall organized "Mocktails 2014", a community-based, health promotion initiative to raise awareness on drug and alcohol-related consequences. The 2014 edition of the event impacted 5,749 people, an increase of 14% with respect to previous year.
The "Mocktails 2014" initiative has been held during the week of May 5 to 10, with the collaboration of 41 partners and 44 volunteers operating as "Health Ambassadors"

Opening of the World Forum Against Drugs

The World Forum Against Drugs (WFAD) opens today May 19 its 4th meeting in Stockholm, Sweden. Since 2009, this is a biennial encounter for people who are working on the field of drug abuse prevention at grass-root, on a voluntary basis, professionally or as policy makers.

Dianova Chile Opens New Facility in Viña del Mar

Dianova recently opened in Viña del Mar (Chile, Valparaiso region), a new, drug treatment facility approved by Chile's National Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SENDA), a government agency attached to the Chile's Ministry of the Interior and Social Security, responsible for the treatment and social reintegration of people with addiction problems.

It is a moral duty, because no one can accept that half of humanity be still relegated to menial tasks under the control of males, as women are in too many countries. According to information provided by Governments in the region, there were approximately 48,000 drug-related deaths in North America in 2011, representing a mortality rate of 155.8 per million inhabitants aged 15-64, the highest rate in the world. While prevalence rates for the abuse of illicit drugs have remained relatively stable, they continue to exceed global averages.
