Following Dianova’s General Assembly, participants to our yearly meetings were invited to attend a training session led by Alejandro Szilágyi, consultant of 2SP International.

The purpose of the session was to teach participants a proven methodology to reflect on the Dianova network member organizations’ positioning, challenges and evolutions needed to achieve success. In addition, Alejandro provided participants with tools to be implemented by the different teams in their respective organizations and countries. In all, 32 people representing 12 Dianova network member organizations attended the meeting.

Alejandro Szilágyi began by getting participants to situate themselves on the three different reality levels from which standpoint each organization can be observed and analyzed. The position one may have on these reality levels can prove decisive for the type of reflection and decision-making that one wishes to implement. For example, it is essential to have a global vision of the organization to engage in reflection and strategic planning.

The session was interspersed with periods devoted to teamwork; in one of these sessions participants were for example asked to make a ‘snapshot’ of their respective organizations from a strategic viewpoint, identifying the elements they want to achieve and those they’d rather get rid of. Another exercise was aimed at identifying what minute modifications could lead to substantial organizational changes (‘chromosome’ method).

Another tool that can be used to generate higher revenue and achieve financial balance is the 2SP Positioning Matrix – a tool utilized to determine and analyze a given organization’s various clients and allies, including their expectations and the financing conditions of related projects.

One invited to take the time to formulate the most appropriate questions. As the trainer emphasized: the quality of our answers is directly to our questions. Questioning allows to focus and what the mind focuses on becomes more important. An essential element in an increasingly complex world.

The session was beneficial to all participants, although we somewhat ran out of time. Participants showed a willingness to pursue these exercises with their own teams and all thanked Alejandro for his dedication and friendly support.

As always, together, farther!
