Geneva Global Health Week – Gender equity is often neglected in health research and development. Because of biological, social, and other factors, women can be more severely impacted by certain diseases. However, they have been under-represented in clinical research, which has resulted in limited data on the risks and benefits of their use of health tools and fewer therapeutic options available to them.
