“Challenging Inequalities”

11th International Forum of NGOs in official partnership with Unesco  – Organized by the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee in cooperation with the UNESCO Secretariat, the Forum will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, on 16 and 17 December 2019, on the theme “Challenging Inequalities”, with a focus on areas such as youth, income, technology, gender and education.

CND Reconvened 62nd Session

The reconvened 62nd session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs will be held at the Vienna International Centre. All organisations in consultative status with ECOSOC are invited to send observers. CSFD Event at the European Parliament

The Future of European Drug Policy:  5 December 2019, 9:00 – 12:00 – Room PHS 1C51, European Parliament, Brussels – The EU Civil Society Forum on Drugs will organize a seminar for members of the European Parliament. The event will highlight ongoing challenges in drug policy at European and global levels and provide insight into how civil society can assist policy makers and legislators in tackling these issues. Drug Policy, Diplomacy and Public Health

Following the tone for drug policy reform debate set by UNGASS 2016, this three-day course held at the Graduate Institute in Geneva will explore such questions as: the future of UN governance in international drug policy, the contribution of alternative actors to ensure that drug policies improve rather than harm the health and welfare of people, and the role of civil society in the international debate on drug policies.

42nd Expert Committee on Drug Dependence

The 42^nd Expert Committee on Drug Dependence (ECDD) will meet in Geneva, Switzerland. The World Health Organization ECDD is mandated by the International Drug Control Conventions to assess the health risks and potential therapeutic use of psychoactive substances. Recommendations are then issued to the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) on whether a substance should be placed under international control or not.

OAS – Money Laundering & Corruption

The objective of the dialogue is to offer a space to provide an updated on the panorama of the evolution of the phenomenon of money laundering and its relationship with corruption investigations, through reflections of national cases in which the OAS and other organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the World Bank have supported.

42nd session of the Human Rights Council

The 42nd session of the Human Rights Council will take place in Geneva (Switzerland). During these 3 weeks, a number of topics will be discussed, focusing on Human Rights issues in Sub-saharan Africa and South-East Asia. NGOs in consultative status with the ECOSOC can be accredited to participate in the Human Rights Council’s sessions as Observers.

The University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) and the EMCDDA will be holding the eighth European drugs summer school (EDSS) this year on ‘Illicit drugs in Europe: demand, supply and public policies’. Dianova Italy participates in the Milano Marathon 2019

Sunday, 7 April – Some 240 runners will wear Dianova’s colours to support a fundraising campaign aimed at funding new reception facilities and vocational training courses, and to say no to the trivialization of drug use. The beneficiaries of Dianova in Italy will also participate in the event and we wish them all a great success!
