Chanaes Residential Center: Drug Addiction & Mental Health
Chanaes is a residential public center managed by the Dianova Foundation in Uruguay, in coordination with the National Network of Drugs (RE.NA.DRO), specialized in taking in men aged between 15 and 24 years that present a dual pathology (coexistence of psychiatric disorders and drug abuse).
The Drug Problem in the Americas: Scenarios for the Future
In 2013, the Organization of American States appointed various international experts to review the current situation and outline future solutions to the drug problem in the Americas. The Analytical Report and the Scenarios for the Drug Problem in the Americas 2013-2025 are the two main components of this work. Both reports, which were extensively discussed during the RIOD Seminar in Uruguay, exhibit a great openness to a dialogue on current policies and a willingness to explore nontraditional approaches to the subject.
XVI Ibero-American Seminar on Drugs & Cooperation
From 5 to 8 May, representatives from Dianova Spain along with over 60 delegates from a number of Spanish-American social organizations attended the 16th Ibero-American Seminar on Drugs and Cooperation held in Montevideo (Uruguay), the objective of which was to discuss future drug policies in the Americas, with a special focus on the strategy chosen by Uruguay.
Opening of the World Forum Against Drugs
The World Forum Against Drugs (WFAD) opens today May 19 its 4th meeting in Stockholm, Sweden. Since 2009, this is a biennial encounter for people who are working on the field of drug abuse prevention at grass-root, on a voluntary basis, professionally or as policy makers.
