The World Youth Report 2011, to be officially released on 6 February, explores the transition of young people from schools and training institutions into the labour market, a phase marking a critical period in the life cycle. The current employment scenario for young people, worsened by the global economic crisis, poses an urgent challenge with long-term implications for both young people and society as a whole. According to the United Nations program on AIDS (UNAIDS), improved access to antiretroviral treatment has reduced the number of AIDS related deaths in Latin America, while the transmission of HIV aggravates due to scarce prevention programs.

The RIOD (Ibero-American network of NGOs working in the field of addiction - of which Dianova in Spain is a member) launched a campaign to reduce the risks of drug abuse among Latin American Migrants. More than 5.7 million foreigners live in Spain, among whom more than 3.3 million are not stemming from EU member states – including about one and a half million from Latin American countries.

On January 16, TVE Spanish television channel broadcast a report on Dianova in Spain and the Can Parellada therapeutic community (Barcelona region) with several interviews conducted during a visit onsite and on the television set.
