Lisbon, June 21st, 2007 The 1 st international conference dedicated to the theme, “Networking, Cooperation & Innovation in the Non-Profit Sector” The international congress, “Networking, Cooperation & Innovation in the Non-Profit Sector” will be held in Lisbon , with the participation of ministerial-level Portuguese government officials and representatives of European and international organisations in the field of substance abuse prevention and treatment. A representative of the United Nations will also be present. The conference has the following objectives: to share the impact that network initiatives could have on all social organisations at an international level, the optimisation of public and private resources and the increase in the efficiency of health care responses - the great challenge for this century. This congress, presided over by the president of Dianova International, will have three central segments, unified under the topic of “Challenges of the 21 st Century”. A member from Dianova Assembly Council will present a retrospective of the internal transformation undergone by Dianova, and a professional trainer, specialising in organisational development, will speak about the process of change within network structures. Reforms of legislation concerning adolescents is a topic of interest to many Dianova member countries, as a result of which it has been decided to address this topic using analyses by various specialists in the fields of sociology, justice and national and international politics. The representative of the United Nations will give a presentation discussing networking and cooperation between the United Nations and NGOs. The conference will attended by members of Portuguese and international communications media, as well as guests from each member country and participants from the areas of families, health, social issues and legal-criminal matters in Portugal .
